[EPISODE ONE] [Part One]

‘Crap, I’m gonna be late!!’ Jaejoong sped up, running faster, not even stopping to catch his breath. He couldn’t or else he would really be late. It was 7:30 when he woke up this morning and classes started at 8:00 sharp. Sure it’s only a 10 minute walk from his apartment to the school, except on top of all the normal bathroom duties he also has to make sure he looks okay and so altogether it takes about half an hour. But today he was in a rush so it only took 25 minutes this time. So with only with only five minutes left he had to hurry! But damn, he could’ve sworn he had at least ten or 15 minutes left when he did the math in his head….[DA1]

He was only a few blocks away from his destination when he heard the cry of a little kitten in the distance. Okay, it was more like a shriek but still. Although he didn’t want to make a bad impression on the first day, it was a helpless cat. His heart just wouldn’t listen to his brain.

Instead of going right, like his brother told, him he went left. It was stuck in tree way up there. If it wasn’t for its tail he really wouldn’t be able to see where it was. It gave another screech, and Jaejoong, being so close this time had to cover his ears until it stopped.

“Wow, it’s stuck pretty high.” Came a voice from beside him.

“Yeah..” Jae said not looking at the new person. He removed his school bag ready to climb the tree but the other guy went before him. He climbed with ease, quickly getting the little kitten and bringing him down.

“Here” He handed Jae the kitten. Jaejoong took it without hesitation, cuddling the kitten his arms like he would a baby. It was cute. Tear glazed emerald orbs and a jet black coat of soft fur with white on his paws and its stomach. [DA2]   “You should be more careful. Something bad might happen to him next time.” The stranger said, brushing off invisible dirt.

“Huh? It’s not my cat” Jaejoong looked at the stranger then back at the kitten. “…it doesn’t have a collar either…”

“…Then why don’t you keep it?”

“Huh? But what if—”

“No what ifs’. Either keep it or abandon it, your choice.”

“…well, if you put it that way I have no choice but to keep him.” ‘Although I don’t mind…’ Jaejoong looked back at the kitten, a gentle smile appearing the instant their eyes connected. The stranger smiled too, but Jaejoong didn’t see.

“Good” He whispered walking away from the tree in the other direction.

Jaejoong took his bag from the ground, kitten still in hand and followed. “But what to name it…” He paused to think, “Ah, What’s you name?”

“…Yunho…”

Jaejoong smiled, “Then I’ll name it Jaeho,”

“Jaeho?”

Jae nodded, “uh-Hun, Jaejoong and Yunho, Jaeho~. It sounds like a nice name doesn’t it?”

“…….”

“What? Is there something wrong with the name Jaeho?” Jaejoong asked taking his silence as an insult.

“No, nothing’s wrong with the name.”

“Then what?”

“Nothing, anyway, this is my stop, see yeah” Yunho stopped in front of the gate of a rather large school.

Jaejoong took his eyes off of Jaeho, looking at Yunho again to say goodbye. The instant he saw the school in the background his eye widened, he remembered.

“Shit!” He cursed, I’m late!”

“Late?”

“For school…” He muttered the last part, “and it’s first day too….hyung’s gonna kill me…”

“I’m sure it won’t be that bad. Here, I’ll help you out. What’s the name of the school?”

“Um…s-sol ma-uk? No…So—”

“SooMan Private School?”

“Ah! Yeah, that’s sounds right! Can you tell me how to get there?”

Yunho shook his head.

“Huh? Why not?” Jaejoong let out a worried expression.

“’cause you’re already here.” He pointed to the name plate on the side of the gate. He was right ‘SM Private School’.

Jaejoong breathed a sigh of relief.

“But—”

“But?”

“But, not pets allowed” This time he pointed to the sleeping Jaeho in Jaejoong’s arms.

With Jaeho in a safe hiding place the two boys entered the classroom. The room grew silent; every eye following the two’s every movement but quickly went back to whatever they were doing before. Thankfully it was self study time and the teacher wasn’t in the room. Yunho sat in the back row, one seat from the window. Jaejoong opted to take the seat directly in front of him. Yunho had said that the desk was empty but this didn’t look like ‘empty’. Books, school bags and other things were scattered all over the top of the desk. It was more like messy, then empty. With one arm, Jaejoong cleared the desk off, letting the mess fall to the ground in one big heap.

Once again the room went silent and every one’s eyes were on Jaejoong. They stared wide eyed then breaking into hushed whispers. Once in a while someone would look his way but swiftly turn back. A group of boys, seated in the front, however, chose to glare at Jaejoong. The looked like gangsters or wannabe’s anyway, with their dog tags, undone shirts and hate filled sneers. They might’ve never meet Jae before, but anyone idiot could tell that they weren’t so pleased to have Jaejoong in their classroom.

However Jaejoong didn’t notice how odd the class was acting. All he could think about was how his baby Jaeho was doing. He would occasionally go off topic from their current conversation and ask Yunho questions concerning the little kitten. If he thought Jaeho was okay, if he thought Jaeho might’ve been scared, if he thought Jaeho was hungry, If Jaeho missed him, etc. Yunho, of course said that the little one was doing fine and that Jae was worrying too much. He just found the kitten not even an hour ago and already he was acting like they’ve been life long friends—no more like mother and child.

An hour passed and the teacher came back, starting class. She made Jaejoong greet himself in front of the class. For another two or three hours class went on then Lunch time came. Jaejoong was the first one out the door, dragging Yunho along behind him. Desks and chairs were moved around forming little circles for all the groups of friends. Some students went to other classes to have lunch; others came in from other classes. Once the teachers left and everyone was settled it became very loud. They talked about their lives, their boyfriends/girlfriends, what they did the other day, and the new kid.

Among most of the girls, and some boys, he was discussed as pretty, somewhat like a girl, or even prettier than a girl. Big brown eyes, dark black hair, and especially his lovely lips were hot topics. Some guys even joked saying things like, ‘too bad he’s a boy’ and ‘are you sure he’s not a girl?’

Boys and some girls too didn’t like him so much, even though most of them didn’t know him. They were self righteous, thought they were right, and didn’t like anyone going up against them. In other words, they were popular and thought he was overshadowing him or the fans of popular people. Whichever category they belonged to, one thing was clear: they hated Kim Jaejoong. Whoever he was.

words

“Jaeho, where are you?” Jaejoong called out. They’d reached the area where they had left the little kitty. A small field surrounded by trees. Before going to class they made a collar out of out of a white lace choker and tied him to a random tree with an extra shoe lace Jaejoong had in his bag. It held together and Jaeho couldn’t runoff anywhere. They made sure of that…or so they thought.

Everything was as they let it, except one thing was missing. JAEHO!!

“Jaeho?” Jaejoong called out again, this time quieter. He walked closer to the tree the shoelace was tied to. “he’s gone….” He whispered. “gone….”

“Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll be back.” Yunho said.

“He’s gone…..” Jaejoong repeated.

“Jaejoong….?” Yunho whispered not really sure of what to say.

“He’s gone!!” Jaejoong yelled this time. Repeating the same phrase. He searched around the tree, the other trees, above in the branches, under the rocks, where ever his little Jaeho might’ve been hiding.

“Jaejo—”

“He could be somewhere crying or scared or hungry….He could be in danger!!” Jaejoong became frantic. Jaeho was just a little baby; he wasn’t old enough to be out on his own yet. He knew it was a bad idea to leave him here, but he just had to listen to Yunho. Who cares if the Jaeho made noise or cried or whatever, he could’ve just blamed it on the kid who sat next him.

There were just so many things that could go wrong. A giant hawk could’ve come down an eaten Jaeho, or some stray dog could’ve frightened the little one. Jaeho might’ve been dead by now for all he knew.

“Calm down Jaejoong.” Jaejoong looked like he was about to cry, he must’ve been really worried. It was weird. Yunho didn’t get it. “We’ll find him. I’ll even get some of my friends to help.” Yunho held Jaejoong’s hands, getting him to stay still, “You just stay here. I’ll be right back.”

Jaejoong signed trying to calm himself down. It didn’t work… Yunho told him to stay still until he came back, but it was so hard. A wave of anxiety flooded over him as his thoughts centered on Jaeho. His baby was lost somewhere and he was standing around, doing nothing. Jaejoong couldn’t let his poor Jaeho down could he?

Yunho hastily ran, making his way into the building. He bumped into a couple of other students here and there, ignoring the teachers that tried to stop him. It all just slowed him down and at a time like this, he couldn’t afford to be slowed down. Sure he didn’t get Jaejoong’s Jaeho complex, but Jaejoong still needed him. The campus was huge at SM Private School and it was sure going to take more than one person to find such a tiny kitten. Jaejoong was counting on him, Yunho just couldn’t let him down…

Wait, ‘couldn’t just let him down?’ Jaejoong? Weird. When was the last time Jung Yunho ‘couldn’t let someone down’?

Heads turned as the door slid open, revealing an exhausted Yunho. The Three others in the room stopping what they were doing and watched as their leader stood there catching his breath.

“Yunho?” Changmin started slowly, “What’s wrong?

words

“Doko ga~? nii-chan~?” A hungry Keita whined both arms and feet spread out along the full length of the love seat. His stomach groaned in pain. He hadn’t had anything to eat all day, having to come in early for the student council meeting that lasted for an eternity, then heading straight to class to meet the most boring teacher in the whole school this side of the globe! And now, being denied and form of eatable substance that might calm his aching stomach all because of his idiot brother!

“He’ll be here soon; just try to wait a little longer would ya?” Keita’s first older brother said, not bothering to look up from his current magazine. He laid on a second love seat on the other side of the small coffee table separating himself and Keita. “I’ve already sent some members to get him.”

“…You know he’s probably not going to be in the classroom…and if we’re lucky he’s not lost some where. I bet he’s already gotten into a fight or something.”

“Oh, he’s here. Siwon said he saw him in by the gate. He was with Jung Yunho—”

“Jung Yunho??” Keita cut him off, jumping up now fully listening to his nii-chan. You mean that Jung Yunho?”

“The one and only, yeah.”

Kieta stared. He couldn’t believe it. His brother? With the Jung Yunho? “…Do you think it’s gong to be like before? With nii-chan, I mean, if he’s hanging out with that Jung Yunho, then something’s gonna happen sooner or later right? Like before right?”

The eldest put down his magazine sliding it onto his belly, eyes fully staring at Keita, “I don’t think that Jaejoong’s that stupid and even if he is there’s no way I’m going to let something bad happen…not this time anyway…”

words

“…he’s gone…” Yunho murmured. Jaejoong was gone. After he told him to stay he left…

‘sigh’

words

“Jaeho? Jaeho where are you?” Jaejoong called out. He’d been searching for a couple of minutes now, close to an hour now, no luck. He’s been around the school twice already (and with a big campus like the one at SMP that wasn’t such an easy feet) looking for his baby. Jaejoong looked behind random bushes, trees, inside empty trash cans and even went so far as to ask passerbys if they’d seen a little kitten around, every single one of them. And they all said no, every single one of them…

Jaejoong sighed. If Jaeho wasn’t outside the school, he had to have somehow found a way in. A way inside this ‘huge confusing as hell school’ that his brothers had warned him about. Naturally, Jae’s brothers had a great sense of direction (Jae’s…not so great), and so for them to get lost on their first day didn’t bring Jaejoong any happy news.

words

“It’s not here.” Yoochun sighed popping his head out of the chemistry lab, “Let’s try the next room.” The other nodded hand already on the door handle.

Nothing.

They moved on to the next room.

Still nothing.

Again they looked through the next room and then the next and the one after that until they had searched all the rooms in the hallway. One hallway done, which left like, only a billion more to go…

“God it’s like finding a needle in a hay stack!” exclaimed Junsu. He’d had it! Surly finding one kitten would be this hard. “Why are we even doing this?”

“Because Yunho asked us to…” Yoochun groaned. They stopped walking looking out the window at the outside scenery. It was time for a break. Yoochun leaned towards the window as did Junsu.

“Why’d he do that anyway?” Junsu started up again, “I mean it’s not like he owns a cat—” he paused to look at Yoochun, “Does he?”

Yoochun shrugged. At this point he didn’t care. He’d been interrupted from his daily afternoon nap with all the arguing from Junsu and Changmin and then Yunho suddenly slams the door open asking them to help him find a lost kitten? He was hungry, sleepy (but mostly sleepy) in bad mood…with wet shoes and soggy pant leg? Wait what?

Yoochun looked down. He was stepping in a puddle of pis pee…pee that wreaked like…well…pee! Junsu noticed too, first the smell and then the puddle. As soon as he was the little kitten the once silent hallways echoed with dolphin laughter.

Yoochun froze. This did NOT just happen, He did NOT get peed on by a purring kitten that was now walking away, these were NOT his favorite pair of shoes and he was defiantly NOT going to kill that little fur ball!

words

“He’s not in here.” Changmin stated lifting his head up, and then getting up from the bushy area.

“I don’t think he’s near here.” Yunho said. “If he was Jaejoong would be here too. Jaeho’s probably far from here by now, but I doubt he’s gotten off the campus in such a short time.” Yunho scratched his head, “I wonder how Yoochun and Junsu are doing”

“Why not just ask them?”

“Huh?”

“Why not ask them? I mean they’re coming this way right now, see?” With that said Changmin pointed to the right. It was Yoochun, with Junsu right behind. He was angry, really angry. Yelling words that children porbaboly shouldn’t hear. Yoochun was chasing something…a black furball?

No, that can’t be it just meowed.’ Yunho thought.

‘Oh Crap! Jaeho!’ “Yoochun! Don’t you dare hurt him!!”

words

About 10 students surrounded an oblivious victim. He wandered through random hallways shouting a name every second.

“Target acquired” whispered the Chief, “Get ready to move in.”

“Roger” multiple voices were hear through headset walkie talkies. The voices shushed and foot steps even quieter, the continued to follow their prey.

He entered an open room still shouting the same name. Occasionally adding a “Where are you”, and “Come out come out where ever you are”.  Through the hallway windows you could see his shadow roaming the room. Seconds later the shadow turned back around obviously not finding what he was looking or.

“Detain in 5……4” The chief’s whispered.

The shadow grew closer and closer.

“3……”

Now turning the door knob.

“…2…”

When the door opened the a shout of “one!” was the first thing Jaejoong heard before getting attacked by various students, all dressed in black suits and heavily tinted sunglass, like the FBI or CIA agents you see in movies.

“Kim Jaejoong,” Came the leader. He stepped out from behind the corner he was currently standing at, “Please follow me.” He too was dresses like the attackers.

“What?” Jaejoong thrust his arms around trying to free himself. No luck…

“The president would like to have a word with you”

words

“NYA!” A kittens shriek attracted attention. The kitten ran though the hall, and down the corner.

“COME BACK HERE!” A shout from a furious Yoochun ran after.

“YOOCHUN NOOO!!”

“DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM!”

Yoochun followed by Junsu then Yunho then finally Changmin (who didn’t say anything).
